Towards aircraft maintenance
long-term goalThe long-term goal is to become an aircraft maintenance engineer. Everything I’m learning in embedded systems and IoT points that way: aircraft are flying networks of sensors and embedded computers.
What I'm working towards.
What I’m spending my time on at the moment. It changes as I go.

Shifting my focus to IoT, embedded systems and AI that runs on the device: microcontrollers, sensors, field buses and small models that keep working when the internet doesn’t.
A smart gate that recognises faces and licence plates without needing the internet. Before buying hardware I’m starting with zero-cost bench labs on a Raspberry Pi 4B: how much Linux timing jitters, how fast face detection runs, and tuning a camera-tracking PID loop in software first. The real build is planned for 2028.
Comparing seven image models for shrimp disease diagnosis under the same rules, and working out where the best one actually wins.
